SANTA CLARA — The 49ers, now 4-0, beat the Cleveland Browns 31-3 last Monday night.
San Francisco offense dropped 14 points in the first quarter while their defense held Baker Mayfield to just one completion.
Mayfield completed just 8 of 22 for 100 yards and two interceptions. The Browns struggled with offense as they punted twice and turned over the ball twice before even getting their only three points.
Nick Bosa slowed down the Browns offense as he stuck close to Mayfield. Bosa, the 2019 number.2 overall pick finished with four tackles, two sacks and five quarterback hits.
The 49ers recorded 275 rushing yards and two touchdowns which is more than the Browns had in total offense.
The Browns couldn’t seem to do anything right. The secondary was bad, the pass-rush inconsistent and the offense couldn’t gain momentum. Simply, it was lack of discipline.
NEXT: The 49ers hit the road for weeks 6 and 7, then back to Levi’s Stadium for a week 8 against the Carolina Panthers.
