Coming this June 8, 2019 will be a one-of-a-kind, US debut production of Philippine Ballet Theatre’s (PBT) “Filipino Masterpieces” and “Serye at Sayaw” at the Hammer Theatre Center in downtown San Jose, California. The show will feature a heartwarming combination of Filipino nostalgia, live Pinoy romantic pop music with modern and classical dance, by the premier house dance ensemble of the Cultural Center of the Philippines. This production is an artistic and cultural collaboration, by non-profit NorCal Academy of Performing Arts in association with Evergreen School of Music and the Arts, just in time for the Philippine Independence Day Festivities in the Bay Area.

“We are so happy to present the Philippine Ballet Theatre for the first time in the US,” said Elvie Teodoro, founder and director of non-profit organization, NorCal Academy of Performing Arts. She adds, “Imagine, original Filipino pop music, live vocals on stage, alongside it, modern and classical dance, performed by Philippine’s premiere dance company, in colorful Filipiniana costumes – only our Filipinos can come up with this specially unique Pinoy show that’s sure to warm the hearts of all!”

Both San José-based NorCal Academy of Performing Arts and Philippine-based Philippine Ballet Theater are non-profit groups that provide affordable programs and scholarships of dance, music, and theater arts instruction to talented children and young adults. Through the kindness and generosity of patrons, donors and sponsors, artistic enrichment and personal development becomes possible for youth of all ages and backgrounds.*
