Bong Aralar, President of the Lex Talionis Fraternitas, Inc (LTFI)-North America, led a delegation of Filipino-Americans in participating in the much awaited Golden Anniversary of their prestigious brotherhood. Aside from the grand celebration, they also had a series of events held at Subic Bay.
The 50th Anniversary Celebration of Lex Talionis Fraternitas, Inc (LTFI) was held at the Manila Hotel last September 25, 2019. President Rodrigo Roa Duterte, a Talion himself, was expected to be the Guest of Honor of his very own fraternity at the San Beda University-College of Law.
Being a proud member of LTFI, the President noted that the fraternity has gone far from a small group of 35 law students in Mendiola in Manila to one of the country’s premier law fraternities.
Because of his outstanding accomplishments, the leadership of Lex Talionis conferred to him the ‘Most Distinguished Talion Award.’
President Duterte humbly and glady accepted the award with a heart-pounding challenge, he asked his fellow Talions to live up to their pledge of “loyalty and service” by reaching out to more Filipinos who are in need.
The President further stressed that LTFI members should not confine themselves to exclusively serve their fellow members, but also reach out to the general public particularly the marginalized.
He also asked for their commitment to join him in answering the call of public service and to help him steer the country towards a brighter and more promising future by upholding the values that have shaped them into what they are today. By Cez Noble
