SANTA CLARA — Bilal Powell inspired the Jets on their fourth win after he ran into the end zone from 19 yards out in overtime.

Nick Folk kept the game going by kicking a 50-yard field goal to tie the score at 17 deep into the fourth quarter.

Carlos Hyde’s 193 rushing yards looked like they would guarantee a second win for the 49ers. Hyde caught a touchdown pass from quarterback Colin Kaepernick, while fellow running back Shaun Draughn ran for score.Their double act helped the Niners build a 17-3 lead at the half.

Phil Dawson kicked a second field goal in the third quarter before Folk’s second three-pointer against a woeful Jets defense.

New York attempted to generate first down and big plays with Bryce Petty struggling under center.

Powell took longer to get going than Hyde but still kept the chains moving in both the running and passing games. Ultimately, he tallied 170 yards as a runner and receiver, as well as the game-winning score.

The Jets should have this many big plays on the ground against the NFL’s worst run defense. But Powell still deserve credit for propping up an offense perennially undermined by a nightmare quarterback situation. He got his reward on the 19-yard to win it.
