Philippine Airlines (PAL) recently celebrated Lucio Tan Day and the blessing of its new office in Burlingame.
PAL President Jaime Bautista from Manila led the Ribbon-cutting along with the San Francisco Philippine Center Consul General Henry Bensurto, Jr. and PAL San Francisco Area Manager Dell Merano at the inauguration and blessing of its new office in Burlingame last May 11.
The event was attended by other PAL executives and employees, SF consular officials, Philippine Tourism staffers, San Mateo and Daly City officials, PAL agents, FilAm community leaders and media.
Philippine Airlines was given a certificate of commendation by San Mateo Supervisor David Canepa and accepted by Merano. “Philippine Airlines has quite the best reputation in the aviation industry,” said Canepa.
PAL announced that this month until August there will be an additional three flights (on Monday, Wednesday and Friday) for a total of 10 flights weekly roundtrip San Francisco to Manila.
A reception followed at the Hyatt Hotel across the street where the ceremony was held. A highlight was the Spark- Connect-Empower MOA signing between Bensurto and Bautista. PAL and the SF consulate initiated the move to collaborate so that the connection between the present and the next generation of the Filipino Americans does not get lost.
More prizes were raffled during the event. The new PAL office is located at 1350 Bayshore, Suite 150 Burlingame, California.
