According to McCoy de Leon, he felt awkward at first to be co-starring with fellow Hashtags member Jameson Blake in the movie “G!” which is an official entry to the 2019 Pista ng Pelikulang Pilipino. This is due to the fact that both of them are linked to young actress Elisse Joson. As everyone in the ‘biz knows, Elisse is McCoy’s former flame while Jameson currently dates the former.
“I wouldn’t deny that there was really awkwardness on my part during the film’s initial shooting. It was my first time to see them together.
We’re actors and showbiz is such a small world. You’ll always bump into each other on projects or events. And I have to show the public that I’m okay…that I’ve moved on.
“It won’t help if you’ll get stuck in despair and dwell in the negative. So, I faced things bravely. Then, Jameson happens to be a good friend. It’s a big factor. I just thought of his happiness that hopefully, he will really be happy,” says McCoy.
Curiously, how did Jameson break the news to him?
“Actually, I had the feeling that he wanted to tell me something. And that’s what’s good with him—it came directly from him. He cleared things from the very start. Due to this, my respect for him even became higher!
“He just asked me if it’s okay that he and Elisse are dating. At first, I didn’t know what to answer since it’s my maiden experience on the matter where a good friend is involved in the situation. Eventually, I focused on the bright side because I’ve realized that Jameson is a true and wonderful friend.
“I just told him to take very good care of Elisse and never hurt her. I even gave him a tip: to court Elisse’s mother. For me, there’s really no problem. It’s just the situation.”
The good-looking lad is happy that he has really moved on from his break-up with his former girlfriend.
“At this point, I want to focus first on myself, specially my job. I’m grateful because I have good projects like this film ‘G’ which also stars Mark Oblea apart from me and Jameson. It’s a good material and is directed by Dondon Santos. It’s an official entry to the forthcoming Pista ng Pelikulang Pilipino. I hope local film buffs will support it.
“You know, I’m very happy at this point. Things are just steady, still. As I’ve mentioned earlier, I’m thankful because I have projects. Before, I was just playing extra on some projects and I told myself why would I aspire for more? As long as there are projects lined-up for me which can be seen by my whole family, I’m okay with that already. I don’t need to become extremely popular,” ends McCoy.
