Hard work pays off… after 47 years


Fairfield, CA – After 47 years of hard work, Amadeo E. Lopez retired last Saturday, December 16, 2017 in a feting surprise retirement party tendered by his wife Julie, children, and dad Servillano Lopez held at the Mandarin Restaurant & Lounge this city, Joy, Amadeo’s daughter and emcee for the night said.

“Actually, this is the second retirement my dad had after retiring after serving the US Navy for 20 years and then after 27 years at the US Postal Service in Fairfield. My dad is a hard working dad and he deserves to rest,” Joy said.

Amadeo thanked everyone who sacrificed preparing for the retirement bash especially his wife and children who, he said, were very good in keeping it secret. “I was really surprised and I thought I just have to take our visitors from Canada to dinner,” he exclaimed.

Attendees came as far as Canada (sister Bella and brother –in-law Dick Lalas); and California folks Marciano & Rosie Estioko, San Jose; Salvador Flores, Fremont; Norma Torres Agulo and husband, Stockton; Elena Esteves and husband, Vallejo; Elpidio & Delia Estioko, Milpitas; among others.

Amadeo said now he can fully attend to his family and taking care of his apos (grandchildren). He also said he can concentrate on planning their Golden anniversary reunion as a member of the UCHS Batch ’68 during the grand reunion in the Philippines 4th week of November next year. He is actively meeting with his classmates here in the US together with Norma Torres Agulo of Stockton. – Elpidio R. Estioko
