New service to meet travel demand from the Philippines to Hong Kong, Japan and North America
Hong Kong Airlines will operate daily flights between Hong Kong (HKG) and Manila (MNL) from 1 June 2018, offering travellers from the Philippines more choice and greater connections from its hub at Hong Kong International Airport.
The airline’s morning arrival and evening departure in and out of Hong Kong ensures that travellers benefit from a full day in the city. The schedule also enables passengers to easily transfer onto connecting flights to popular destinations such as Tokyo, Osaka and Vancouver as well as to the airline’s newest destinations in USA, including Los Angeles and San Francisco – operated by the airline’s brand new Airbus A350 aircraft. The new aircraft features inflight wifi as well as great F&B offerings including gourmet popcorn by Joe & Seph’s for Economy Class passengers and specially-designed dishes created by Hong Kong home-grown culinary talent, Gabriel Choy for Business Class passengers.
For Business Class and eligible passengers hoping to refresh before their connecting flight, Hong Kong Airlines offers Club Autus, its new lounge located at the Midfield Concourse of Hong Kong International Airport. The 13,940 sq. ft. facility features a suite of services that cater to every traveller’s need, including the longest food line and shower facilities.
Mr Michael Ma, Director of Commercial at Hong Kong Airlines said: “Demand for flights between the Philippines and Hong Kong has been growing steadily, and we are pleased to offer customers more travel options than before. Our entry into a new market marks an exciting milestone for us, and we look forward to developing this even further.”
Hong Kong Airlines will deploy an Airbus A320 on the new route, which will be outfitted with a single-class configuration and offer 174 seats in Economy Class.
Travellers may also use this opportunity to sign up for Hong Kong Airlines’ “Accelerate” programme, a new loyalty initiative that rewards frequent flyers with instant travel benefits, and to quickly become top tier members of the Fortune Wings Club.
