MILPITAS — The 7 Lakes Association of Northern California held its Installation of Officers and celebrated the 34th anniversary of its founding on last February 27 with a dinner and ball at the prestigious Embassy Suites.
Beginning at 6 pm, a no host cocktail will open the unforgettable event headed by its current president, Maricris Llamas Benitez.
“ I am so honored to have served this long time non-profit organization and so excited to join our special guests and supporters for the past 34 years in achieving our mission and goal to benefit many worthy projects and programs,” exclaimed Maricris proudly.
Invited to officiate the Induction of officers is Assembly member Kansen Chu, who will install the incoming president, Tina Sitjar and other officers. Doing the welcoming address is the Honorable Mayor Joe Esteves, Major of Milpitas and following immediately is a brief and memorable program and dancing to the great music of Synthesis Band.
“ This is another milestone of 7 Lakes , because we are proud to help those people without means in our birthplace, San Pablo , Laguna,” said the incoming president, Sitjar.
Among their projects are: Bayanihan Cultural Center, Veterans Equity Center Scholarship for High School students from San Pablo Laguna now in the Bay Area, Recognition of Senior Citizens from San Pablo Laguna who made outstanding contributions in the community
Serving the city of San Pablo, Laguna are: Bahay Pag-Ibig at Bahay Pag-Asa , San Pablo Puereculture Center, Bahay Nazareth-Home for the Aged, Dept. of Education & Culture(DECS) Retirees providing academic scholarships to high school students, St. Martin de Porres -an orphanage and home of the street children, Books for the Barrios, Adopt-a School Program- Major Juan Eseo Elementary School, Sta. Veroica Elementary School and San Bartolome National High School, Disaster Relief Fund for the victims of floods, earthquakes, and other calamities in San Pablo, Laguna, Sampaloc Lake Mini Park and other Development programs benefitting all San Pableanos.
With the above outstanding projects and programs, 7 Lakes cannot be faulted for having had contributed tremendous and worthy programs for the community it serves and served well.
Young and old enjoyed the evening’s ice cold beer or a glass of fine wine at the no host cocktail, and danced to the music of Synthesis Live Band. Additionally, there was a lot of various prizes for raffled.
