The 12 year old Honors Student has been training in Choi Kwang Do since the age of four.
This past Saturday after a grueling two hour test, he was promoted to 3rd Degree Black Belt, making him one of the youngest, highest ranked black belts in the United States. As a point in comparison, the 2nd youngest 3rd degree in Matthew’s classes is 16 years old. The son of John and Arcelie McFarlin, of Dearborn, Matthew finds time to sing in the Bryant Middle School Choir and also studies Piano at Sonnemans School of Music. (Mom Arcelie was born in Pampanga.) A member of the I-Group Talent Agency in Southfield, Matthew will be appearing in a commercial for MAGFORMERS this coming holiday season.
