SAN FRANCISCO, CA — After over two years of dealing with COVID-19 and public gathering
restrictions, CCHP held a Spring Health and Fun Fair on Saturday, April 23rd at Gellert Health Services in Daly City to celebrate steps toward normalcy.
The ongoing COVID-19 pandemic has motivated people to take more responsibility for preserving their own health, but there are individuals in the community who struggle to access care. The purpose of the fair is to provide the community with resources to maintain good health, as well as connect individuals with available resources close gaps in care.
“As a community-minded local health plan, CCHP’s mission is to improve the health and well-being of ourcommunity.
The health fair is part of our continued effort to fulfill this commitment, and we want to make quality care available not just to our members, but to our community at large,” said Larry Loo, CEO of CCHP. During the event, participants had an opportunity to receive a variety of free screenings, which included BMI, blood pressure, bone density, and glucose. In addition, COVID-19 vaccines and at-home test kits were also available.
Hundreds of people were able to get health screenings and talk to healthcare
professionals. Larry added, “we are pleased to be working with our community partners, such as Chinese Hospital, Jade Health Care Medical Group and Chinese Community Health Resource Center (CCHRC) to support the wellness of our community together. CCHP is looking forward to hosting more health fairs in different communities throughout 2022.”
