Shaina Magdayao sheds light on the circulating rumor that she is allegedly moving to GMA-7.
“As of now, there’s nothing like that happening,” she avers.
“Technically, I’m still a Kapamilya. As you can see, I have a new project, an iWant web series titled, ‘Past, Present, Perfect.’ This is where I’m focusing my attention as of now.”
The pretty actress is still overwhelmed with the fact that she recently graced the Cannes Film Fest in France.
“That’s right! I was part of the delegation of the movie ‘Ang Hupa’ directed by Lav Diaz which premiered in the said prestigious international film festival. So, as of now, I’m still digesting everything from that wonderful experience. Imagine, I was there!
“Never has it crossed my mind that this beautiful development would come my way. I never expected that it would happen, that I’d be able to attend an international film festival as grand as Cannes. It was given to me and I thank the Lord for such blessing in my career.”
Shaina wants to take things one step at a time.
“After ‘Past, Present, Perfect’, let’s see what my next project would be. It could be for iWant again. Actually, according to ABS-CBN, they have a lined-up project for me. I’m still unaware of the details though since I just arrived from Cannes. I just don’t know if it’s still going to push through.”
With regards to the GMA offer, the popular star says:
“As I’ve said earlier, there’s none at this point. So I’m still very much in the Kapamilya lot. In fact, I just finished an assignment for them which is this iWant show ‘Past, Present, Perfect.’ For now, that’s the situation.”
Shaina would always be grateful to both networks for shaping up her career.
“It cannot be denied that I have so much to thank ABS-CBN and GMA for all these years. For one, I grew up in the Kapamilya while it was in the Kapuso where I really started.”
But if ever GMA will have an offer, will she consider it?
“If ever that time comes, I will not hide it from the press. But right now, I’m still very much with ABS-CBN. I’m the playing the character of Shantal in iWant TV’s ‘Past, Present, Perfect.’ Let’s put our focus on it, okay!”
