Daniel Padilla admits that he is not really used to not working with beau Kathryn Bernardo for a project. Everyone knows that the latter is currently wrapping a film with Kapuso pride Alden Richards under Star Cinema titled, “Hello Love, Goodbye.” Due to this, DJ flew to Hong Kong where some of the movie’s major scenes were shot and surprised his ladylove.
“Honestly, I’m still not used to it,” he says. “It’s hard to think that we are working separately. I find it kind of bizarre to be in this situation. Kath was so far from me and it felt like ages. So I decided to pay her a surprise visit. I felt that I had to be there. My heart can’t just wait!”
Interestingly, this isn’t the first time that he and Kathryn were apart for some time.

“Yes! I recall that during the time when we were doing the soap opera ‘Princess and I’ back in 2012, there was also a point when the two of us had to be physically away from each other. I exactly felt the same. I thought it would be the same as before. It’s hard because you’re used to each other’s presence for the longest time, seeing each other almost every day and then suddenly you will get separated.”
In spite of this development, the popular young actor understands why such happening needed to happen.
“Of course at first, you will be surprised because you’re not yet ready. As I’ve said, it’s difficult if you’re not used to something and you are made to undergo and face it. But I realized that you have to support your girlfriend in what she does since she’s exerting her best efforts. She’s putting all her blood, sweat and tears, so to speak and it’s no joke.
“I see that it has a long-range benefit. It’s for our growth as artists. There’s a purpose why things happen. I needed to understand the process. There are certain points when you have to take risks. In this case, I’m giving Kathryn my hundred percent support!”
Interestingly, the appealing lad reveals that Alden reached out to him when cameras started grinding for “Hello Love, Goodbye.”
“Oh, yes! The guy reached out to me through text. He sent me a message during the early phase of their shooting. I just haven’t replied yet.”
Why hasn’t he answered yet?
“Well, I don’t know what to reply to a text message like that. Perhaps, I opt to tell him personally instead. I don’t want to go into details as to what I would tell him. I prefer a personal meet-up.”
Daniel has only good words for Alden.
“In general, the guy is very professional. Kath didn’t have a hard time working with him.
My mom (Karla Estrada) also got to work with him in the past, in the afternoon soap ‘Alakdana’ and she said that Alden is a nice fellow. With that, I’m very comfortable. I would like to thank him for being a good guy,” he ends.
