Bodycam, dashcam use in police operations urged after tragic PNP-PDEA shoot-out in mall
Senate President Pro Tempore Ralph Recto said last week’s botched entrapment that killed four anti-drug operatives in a gunfight among law enforcement agents should speed up the implementation of a “may bodycam sa dibdib, may dashcam sa sasakyan” rule in the PNP.
“It is again a bloody reminder of a missing but vital equipment in policing — video recording devices, especially during operations,” Recto noted.
Recto sponsored with then Sen. JV Ejercito a PHP5.4 ...

Some senators expressed support for the pilot testing of face-to-face classes in select schools as the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) said the Philippines is currently the only country in the East Asian and the Pacific region that still has closed schools nationwide.
Responding to the query of Sen.Pia Cayetano, UNICEF Chief of Education Isy Faingold told the Senate hearing that the Philippines is the only country in the region that closed schools the whole...

Politics and false state pride caused worst disaster in Texas history
By Gus Mercado
The midnight scene was apocalyptic at the height of the shocking ice storm that blanketed most of Texas, a state that is geographically bigger than California and normally very seldom sees snow. There was ghastly silence as thick snow and ice covered the cities and fields. More than 4 million people at one time or another were without power to light and heat their homes. Before the water supply was cut off, water pressure was very low which made the water un...
Itama po natin! – By Debt Aid Consulting
By Ben Lou
Q: Why do most debt relief companies not accept payday loans?
A: Payday loans are kind of tough to deal with that is why most debt relief companies are not very friendly about helping with these kind of debts. Another is that they are not very sizable debts. In most cases they are $300 to $500 dollars. It would take quite a bit of payday loans before a client can meet the minimum debt load requirements of usually $7,500 or in most cases $10,000.
But ne...
As I See It – Blended Learning: The Key to Back-to-school, corona virus way!
One of two priorities of President Joe Biden’s first 100 days of his administration is to re-open the schools “safely” with a definite plan of action, a road map with safety considerations and securing welfare of students… and of course, teachers!
That means the online learning which dominated the school systems’ medium of instruction for almost a year now since the pandemic struck, will now be altered with in-person classroom instruction.
Online or virtual classrooms p...
Who can get the $1400 Stimulus Check?
The governments' support for the Covid-19 pandemic in Cares Act provides stimulus checks of $1200 initially and another $600 thereafter. Then there is the coming stimulus bill in Congress , the American Rescue Plan, providing for $1400 stimulus checks for most Americans. It passed the House and is now in the Senate for approval. The question is are non-citizens qualified to receive this check?
The second stimulus package has specific eligibility requirements for who can...
“No COVID-19”
“There is no COVID-19; the virus was never proven to exist,” were the ridiculous, irresponsible, and crazy assertions blogger Jon Rappoport made, claiming the statements were made by Dr. Andrew Kaufman, Dr. Tom Cowan, and Sally Fallon Morell.
While the falsehood is self-evident, what bothers me more is that those 12 words, which are technically criminal because they could kill people who are gullible enough to believe them, have been disseminated in the social media, even ...
StreetTalk – Put more Czars on the job
My favorite anecdote about “improving operations efficiency” is that one about the kid who overheard his engineer father tell his assistants to “put more men on the job” in order to fast-track an infrastructure project.
The kid, being an only child, also wanted his parents to give him a baby brother. When his father replied that it would take a while to do so, the kid suggested,”Why not put more men on the job?”
While, I realize that the subject is no joking matter, the...
