Milpitas, CA – The first-ever Multi-High School Homecoming for three high schools in Urdaneta City, Pangasinan will be held on February 1 – 3, 2019 at the city’s newly-renovated Cultural Center, according to The Global Urdanetanians (TGU) President Yvonne San Juan-Sera.
For many years, the three high schools were holding their annual homecomings separately but this time, the three high schools plus the barrio high schools, will jointly hold it through the sponsorship of TGU, a So. California-based non-profit organization.
In her text message to this writer, San Juan-Sera said the three high schools are mother high school Urdaneta Community High School, now the Urdaneta City National High School (UCNHS) plus its barrio high schools; Our Lady of the Lilies Academy (OLLA); and the Divine Word College in Urdaneta (DWCU).
According to San Juan-Sera, Day 1 (Friday, February 1) opens with a concelebrated mass by alumni priests at the UCNHS Oval Track Grounds, followed by a grand motorcade around the city and will culminate in the afternoon with activities like Zumba, reflexology and massage sessions c/o TESDA, ballgames, Laro ng Lahi (sipa, piko, Chinese garter, etc.) and the karaoke night “Let’s Hear Your Voice”.
Day 2 (Saturday, February 2) at the cultural center will be zumba dancing for one hour in the morning, then a TGU slide show presentation, the “We Will Rock You” multi-high school talent show that will wind up in the evening with the Grand Alumni Fellowship Night with a Hawaiian theme and special music to be provided by RETROMANIACS.
On Sunday, Day 3 (February 3), tree planting activities dubbed as “Magtanim ng Puno para Sa Magandang Urdaneta” will be held simultaneously in campuses of OLLA, UCNHS, DWCU, and the Catablan landfill. Overall Coordinator is Dr. Belinda San Juan. – Elpidio R. Estioko
